Burry Port RFC Presidents Dinner

On Saturday 6th February Burry Port RFC hosted a Presidents Dinner, raising over £3,000 for the Peony Breast Care Unit!

International and European Rugby Champions Cup Referee Nigel Owen was the main speaker and he had Guests enthralled with his on and off the pitch rugby tales. He was the only Welsh Referee at the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France, at the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand and for the 2015 Rugby World Cup Final in England. Pictured below is Nigel with our CEO Georgia Gascoyne.

Burry Port’s Memorial Hall was transformed by the Club and Guests were welcomed with a champagne reception. The catering team did a fantastic job of serving a delicious three-course meal. Following the speeches, a raffle and an auction was held and everyone danced until the early hours of the morning to the funky sounds of ‘Give me Some Loving’ Soul Band.

A massive well-done to Burry Port RFC for such a well-organised, well-executed event and for raising so much funding for the Peony Cancer Care at the Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli. Over £4,000 has now been raised for the Charity to date!
